What does this mean?

As of February 1st, 2026, it will be illegal to use any e-bike in NSW that does not meet this certification.
We’re proud to be the first and only high-capacity (12-hour) cargo e-bike in Australia, purpose-built for food delivery riders, to meet this government-approved safety standard.
Our bikes have successfully passed UL 2271 and UL 2849, the world’s highest safety standards for e-bikes and batteries — fully recognized by the NSW Government.

This certification applies to the entire electrical system — including the motor, controller, charger, and wiring.
It guarantees that all components work together safely to minimize the risk of fire, electric shock, and mechanical failure.

Legislative Compliance

All Orca e-bikes models are designed to comply with the NSW Electrically Power-Assisted Cycles (EPAC) legislation at the point of sale and can be further adjusted to meet other Australian state requirements where applicable.
Before using an e-bike, check the applicable local laws relating to your intended use of the e-bike on roads and road-related areas.
